We know how important good food and proper nutrition in bountiful quantities are during an epic race...and you will not be disappointed in the meals offered during BC Bike Race! We will be using caterers, bakeries, and other resources that are local to each stage of the race in order to provide the best food experience available. By using local resources, we'll be showcasing local fare and providing a wonderful variety of foods to tantalize your taste buds every stage of the way.
The meals will be served in a common area located near Base Camp, so you can continue to bond with your fellow racers as you break bread together. We promise lots of variety, large servings and nutritionally appropriate dishes at each meal. Most importantly, you'll experience fast and efficient service so that you're not gulping down your breakfast en route to the start line.
There are two sittings for our dinners and breakfasts…meaning you will only ever be rubbing elbows in food lines with half the racers at any one time! When you cross the finish line each day, you will be asked if you want to dine at 6:00pm or at 6:30pm. Then, you show up to the dining area and eat at the time you selected. When you are done dinner, you will pick up a breakfast ticket for first sitting or second sitting the next day. It's that easy.
For those who finish early or mid-day and want to fuel up with a lunch, we will have local vendors on hand to sell you something to tide you over until dinner.
Your first meal included in your Entry Fee is breakfast on Day 1 at Shawnigan Lake School (SLS). These folks have been feeding rugby teams from all over the world for many years, and they know how to fill an athlete with all the right stuff.
You may even choose to join us for the optional Day Zero Banquet at SLS prior to the Mandatory Racer Briefing to enjoy their culinary skills.
Dinners and breakfasts from SLS to Cumberland will be provided by local caterers who know how to please hungry racers. The morning of Day 4 will be an early rise, but you will enjoy a special BC Ferries breakfast as you sail across the Strait of Georgia. A local caterer in Sechelt will host us for dinner and breakfast. Then it's off to Squamish for two dinners and two breakfasts from a North Shore caterer.
We want you to feel that you had good quality, great variety and as much volume of the ingredients you need to fuel yourself through this epic challenge.
We have received some sample menus from our catering team and we thought we would tease you with a couple of the days’ meals:
Dinner: BBQ Theme

We'll also have 2 fully-stocked Aid Stations along the route each day with water, energy drinks, fruit, bars, gels and snacks...all the fuel you'll need to stay fired-up along the way!
BC Bike Race is The Ultimate Singletrack Experience, but you may just remember it as the best week of eating you have ever had!
