BC Bike Race and Obsession: Bikes have partnered together to serve all your race bike needs. Not only is James Wilson the BCBR Bike Tech Support Manager, he also happens to be the owner of Obsession: Bikes...one of the best bike shops around. 

The Program

We'll let James fill you in on the Bike Tech Program for 2008...

Obsession: Bikes is, as the name implies, obsesssed with bikes. We ride them, race them, break them, fix them, dream about them and even at times sleep with them.

Our business is located in North Vancouver at 1st and Lonsdale. The backbone of Obsession: Bikes is service. Our mantra is “Do it right, right on time.”

We ran the bike tech area for BC Bike Race in 2007, have individual experience at Trans Rockies, and have traveled to La Ruta to compete and to view the bike tech services offered by their event. We feel that you will be very satisfied with our efforts and wish you nothing but an awesome experience! 

For  BC Bike Race 2008 we will be returning with our streamlined service system, dedicated staff, and extremely high standards:

The Service Process

We know you're exhausted at the end of each day and just looking forward to a shower and some eats; however, nothing is more trouble in stage racing than a misbehaving bike, so you need to build bike care into your end-of-day routine. We promise to service-write your repair as quickly as possible, but be warned - we will take the time to do it right.

On each day you require bike tech:

• You'll bring your bike to one of our service writers and let him know what isn't working and what you want fixed.
• This year we are offering a Bike Cleaning service to speed things along. If you do not wish to pay for this service, make sure your bike is clean when you bring it to us – we will not work on dirty bikes.
• The service writer will assess your repair with you and talk about what you can expect from the repair.
• We will give you an estimate for the repair, which you will sign off on before any work is done.
• At the completion of the repair your bike will be test-ridden and sent to the corral for overnight storage where you can pick it up the next morning, ready to race!
• When we are satified that the repair is complete we will charge your credit card for the work. All receipts are kept on file so if you have a concern we can talk about it the next day.

Caution!!

If you have any question about the durability of your bike do not wait until you get to BCBR to fix it! Come prepared: you will be putting about 4-5 weeks of use on your bike in just 7 days. A new bike would be ideal. Check with us for suitable machines. We do offer preferential pricing for BCBR participants past and present. Our XC brands are: Specialized, Trek and Scott.
